Story/Synopsis:

Pi Zi and Ying Xiong are two cops who are as different as day and night. One does nothing except for drinking coffee and living a luxurious lifestyle while waiting for information from dubious sources to crack his cases. Another believes law and justice are the pillars of society and is constantly on the street catching criminals… a little overzealously for his superior’s liking. When a case brought these two top crime solvers together, sparks flied and a little light peeked into this dark city where the nation’s President is on friendly terms with the local triad and twins kill people while drinking milkshake.

Essbee’s Opinion:

79% I would say that this drama is separated in three parts. First, there was the drug case. Then, there’s all the romance, family story, working, guessing… nothing big happening. And then, there’s the high point… and where, as a viewer, we understand everything and everyone kills each other. Okay, maybe not that much, but… something like that.

It’s the first time I’ve seen Vic Zhou as this kind of character. Usually, he’s silent. Now, he’s a playboy. It was really funny to see how he was afraid of everything even though he’s a “police officer”. I guess that the contrast between him and Hero was so big that he looked even more exaggerated. Hero is a guy who’s totally crazy! His work is more important than his own life! He’s pretty new in the acting field, but he has win THE Golden Award. That proves the fact which he’s so talented.

I have been impressed by certain actors. KingOne has always been the nice boy, the good friend, the gentle boyfriend. Well, NOT HERE! He’s a big drug dealer and he’s just so scary! I loved his acting and it’s so sad we didn’t see him after the first part.. Ivy’s character is very special. She’s the daughter of the mafia boss, but she doesn’t like it. Everybody defends her, but she “just want a normal life”… I liked the way she acted. It didn’t seem fake at all… There was also Chen Zhi Kai. This guy can do anything! In every drama he plays in, he has a different kind of character. Here, he’s a “fake died soldier”. Yeah… so this drama is plenty of great actors, just try to not be freaked out by the drama.

I think that the plot gets very complicated around the episode 20. We’re all messed up and… the end let us to somethings very surprising… Seriously, the blond guy is CRAZY!

Need help to choose between Iris and Black & White?

  1. Korean or Taiwan (Chinese): I guess the language is very important… reading subtitles or not?
  2. Black & White before Iris. Iris is a little different, but I think that if you start with it, Black & White would feel a little boring, since there is less action. However, I’m not saying that B&W is less good… BOTH are GREAT!
